These pieces are made using the ancient craft of felt-making. This involves laying out raw wool fibres and adding embellishments to create these unique and stunning designs.

The forms are organic and evocative of the natural world. I’m inspired by spending time in nature, meditating, meandering and communing with the more than human world. I feel it is my relationship with nature that allows me to craft the pieces you see here.

Felt is such an incredibly versatile medium. It can be manipulated into such a variety of forms- from fine art pictures to rudimentary vessels. It also is often quite unexpected what the finished piece will look like, as in the process of shrinking, shaping and stitching, the felted fabric can do quite magical and unforeseen things! This is part of why I love the process of felt making, it is a truly fascinating medium to work with.

All Felted items use wool that conforms to OEKO-standard 100, which means they are sustainable for the planet and gentle on skin. I also use up-cycled sari silk, plus other re-purposed items in my work.
